ik heb geborduurd !! / I´ve stitched !!

geloof het of niet, maar het is eindelijk gebeurd, ik heb weer geborduurd !!
ik ben 1e kerstdag verder gegaan aan Waiting for Ships, terwijl ik bij mijn ouders was.
Tristan was die dag naar pappa, en tja, dan moet je toch wat he.
helaas heb ik maar een ietsiepietse gedaan gekregen.

believe it or not, but it has finally happend, I´ve stitched again !!
I went to my parents first Cristmas day, and there I stitched a bit on Waiting for Ships.
Tristan was at his dad´s that day, and well, you have to do something ,right.
I only maneged to do a very little bit.

ik ben haar haar aan het borduren met Molasses van Weeks Dye Works, en dat was natuurlijk net op.
en de rest van haar gezicht, tja, ik was het gedeelte van het patroon met de kleurentabel vergeten............................

I´m stitching her her with Molasses by Weeks Dye Works, and of course I just ran out of that.
and as for the rest of her face, well, I had forgotten the part of the chart that had the colour chart on it.....................

dit was de eerste keer dat ik met Weeks Dye Works borduurde, en het is me niet tegengevallen.
maar hoeveel je doet met zoon strengetje, dat is moeilijk in te schatten.
vandaar dat ik haar haar al gedeeltelijk in ´strengen´had geborduurd, zodat het niet zo erg was als een evt 2e strengetje een iets andere kleur zou hebben.
uiteindelijk heb ik de rest ingevuld met gewoon DMC, maar nu ik het laatste stukje heb af geborduurd met WDW weet ik al dat ik dat DMC weer uithaal.
dus toch maar een strengetje bijbestellen !

this was my first time stitching with Weeks Dye Works, and I must say it was nice to stitch with.
but I find it hard to figure out how much you can stitch with just one skein.
so I strated to stitch her her in ´strands´so it would not be a problem if a second strand of WDW had a slightly different colour.
evetually I filled in the open spaces with normal DMC, but now that I have done the last bit with WDW I know I´m going to take the DMC out.
so I gues I do have to order a new skein of Weeks Dye Works !

en minder gewazel betekend meer borduren, zie hier, de sluier is af !
ik heb het wit vervangen voor B5200 , simpleweg omdat ik geen wit meer had...........

in dit patroon komen ook weer diverse gecombineerde kleuren voor, en iemand vroeg me hoe ik die uit elkaar hield.
want dan denk je dat je klaar bent, en blijk je toch nog ergens wat vergeten te zijn.
dus ik heb een simpel kaartje gemaakt met gaatjes erin, stukje garen wat over is eraan, en heb ik nog een kruisje gemist, dan is dat geen probleem !

this chart has a lot of combined colours, and someone asked me how I kept them apart.
just when you think you´re done, you find out you´ve missed a bit.
so I made a simple card with some holes in it, attatched the left over threads, and when I find I´ve missed a stitch, there´s no problem !

Peetje vroeg me waar ik het stof van `Be Hippie `gekocht had.
ik heb het gekocht bij Naald en Draad in Roermond.
maar ik ben even voor je gaan zoeken, en heb het ook op internet gevonden, hier
en hier , en er zijn er vast nog wel meer.
het heet trouwens Aida arab, en is er zover ik weet in 2 kleuren.

en dat was het dan weer, tja 103 volgers, dat maak je niet elke dag mee, ben er nog steeds een beetje stil van !

I got it at Naald en Draad in Roermond, but I´m sure it can be found on the internet aswell.

en hoe het was, mijn vrije middag ?
nou, heerlijk !
ik heb snel gelunched , de wc gepoetst, opgeruimd, bedacht wat we zouden eten als avondeten ( en dat is soms al een dagtaak op zich ! ), en mijn gemiste aflevering van ATWT gekeken.
en geborduurd ?
oja, dat ook nog !
zie hierboven het resultaat van 1 bijna geheel vrije middag, en 3 halve avonden...

and how it was, my aftenoon off ?
well, it was great !
I had a quick lunch, cleaned the downstairs bathroom, cleaned up around the house, figured out what we were gonna have for dinner ( and that is at times a day-job in itself ! ), and watched an episode of ATWT that I had missed.
and stitched ?
yes, I did that to !
as you can see above, the results of 1 almost compleet afternoon off, and 3 half eavenings.....


en dan niet te vergeten, een reuze bedanktje aan Amarins en Babs, voor de DMC adresjes.
net toen ik besloten had een bestelling te plaatsen bij jullie DMC mannetje, mailde mijn eigen DMC mannetje.
ze waren verhuist en reageerden daarom pas later.
maar ik zal zeker jullie adresje eens uitproberen in de toekomst !

ik zag het staan, en dacht meteen, dat is het !
en ook nog doorzichtig, want dan kan ik er ook naar kijken, en ervan genieten dat het er allemaal zo netjes inzit.
gesorteerd, en toch bij elkaar, en makkelijk me te nemen, mocht ik eens ergens heen willen gaan waar ik dat dan mee naartoe wil nemen, en .....en.......en.....

ja, ik weet, ik draaf door, geloof me, ik schrijf zoals ik praat, er komt werkelijk geen eind aan !
maar goed, waar het om gaat, zo lag mijn borduurhoekje er eerst bij ;

ik neem vanmiddag vrij ! / I´m taking the afternoon off !

de laatste tijd heb ik niet veel geborduurd, helaas.
ik wil wel, maar ik kan maar telkens de tijd niet vinden.
altijd is er wel wat dat in en om het huis gedaan moet worden, en bovendien werk ik nu tijdelijk 20 uur per week ipv 12.
en dat is ook even wennen, vooral omdat ik nog geen vast rooster heb, en ik elke week dus andere dagen tijden werk.
heel leuk, maar het voelt af en toe alsof ik full time werk !
en dan wil je natuurlijk ook nog wat quality-tijd doorbrengen met je kind................

for the last weeks I did not stich much.
I want to, but I just cant seem to find the time.
there is always something that needs to be done, in or around the house, and on top of that I now temporary work 20 hours a week iso 12.
that takes some ajusting, since I do not have a permanend roster, so I work diffenrent days and hours every week.
it´s fun, but sometimes it feels as if I work full-time !
and then you do want to spend some quallity time with your child..............


maar, nu begint het toch wat te worden !
het bovenstuk is uitgehaald, en opnieuw geborduurd, en ik vind het zelf heel mooi.
nu nog haar linker hand, want daar zie ik ook kleurverschil in, maar dat laat ik nog even zijn.
ik wil eerst nog de sluier ( of is het een vin ) op haar rug doen, en dan aan haar haar beginnen.
daar gebruik ik 1268 Molasses van Week Dye Works voor.
spannend, want daar heb ik nog nooit mee geborduurd.......

I frogged her upper body, and restitched it, and I´m very happy with it !
now I still need to do her left hand, I see a colour difference in there, but I´m leaving it for just now.
first I want to do her vail ( or is it a finn ) on her back, and then start on her hair.

nu nog op zoek naar een nieuw DMC adresje...........
ik heb een flink aantal nummers die ik wil bijbestellen, heb dus al een bestelling geplaatst via de mail, maar ik hoor maar niets...........

it did not make the 2 sides in the same fabric direction, would that be it ?

jaha, ik ben begonnen aan Waiting for Ships !
hierboven het orginele plaatje wat bij het patroon hoort.
je zou toch haast medelijden met haar krijgen, zoals ze daar zwemt in het olijf bruin-groene water.................dat kan toch niet gezond zijn !
dus ik heb gekozen voor een frisse groen tint, jawel, het groenen stof dus.
veel heb ik nog niet gedaan, alleen alvast een beginnetje .

one would almost feel sorry for her, simming in that murcy olive brown-green water..............that can´t be healty !
so I chose a nice fresh green shade , indeed, the green fabric.
I haven´t done much yet, just a little start.


ik heb dit patroon met kralen en garen gekocht, en er zit apart garen bij, Au Ver a Soie.
daar heb ik nog nooit mee gewerkt, iemand van jullie wel ?
het glinsterd wel mooi, maar hoe het borduurd.....
en dan de kraaltjes, die zijn erg klein deze keer.
de vorige keer heb ik de plaatsen waar een kraaltje kwam op een geborduurd stuk ingevuld met kruisjes, maar dat waren er niet zoveel.
nu komen er veel meer kraaltjes in, en ze zijn toch een stukje kleiner dan een kruisje.
hoe doen jullie dat ?

I bought this chart with beads and threads, and it has a kind of thread in it that´s new to me, Au Ver a Soie.
I´ve nerver worked with that, does any of you ?
it´s really sparkly, but if it will be nice to stitch........
and then the beads, they are really small this time.
the last time I filled in the spots were a bead should come, with a cross stitch.
were the beads had to be attached on a stitched part I mean.
but that were not so many beads, and now I have to do a lot more.
and these beads are just a whole lot smaller then one cross stitch.
how do you guys do that ?

helaas vind ik dat niet zo mooi.
ik sta er altijd van te kijken hoeveel mooier de Mira´s worden als ze eenmaal geborduurd zijn, en dan meestal op ander stof.
kijk maar eens naar het verschil bij Deepest Love.
maar dat is natuurlijk heel persoonlijk, en voor iedereen anders.

Amaris gave me the tip to use the original fabric.
but I don´t really like it that much.
I´m always amazed at how much more beautiful the Mira´s look when they´re stitched, and usually on a different fabric then the original one.
just look at the difference on Deepest Love.
However, that depends on ones personal taste.





maar goed, de danseres wacht nog op me, en dat moet ik toch echt doen bij daglicht ( en daar hebben we op het moment niet zoveel van ), en ik doe een poging om wat kerst ornamentjes te maken.
maar daar de volgende keer meer over !

ik heb er al een keer besteld, en ben er zeer tevreden over.

eigenlijk heb ik al een hele tijd niet meer geborduurd.
gewoon niet zoveel zin gehad.... maakt ook niets uit, want ik moet niets, en er hoeft niets voor een bepaalde tijd af te zijn.
maar nu begint het toch weer te kriebelen !
dus ik ben van plan aan een nieuw project te beginnen ; Waiting for Ships van Mirabillia.
uiteindelijk is het de bedoeling dat ze naast Deepest Love komt te hangen.
maar zover zijn we nog niet, eerst bedenken op welk stof ik haar ga maken !
en dat is nog niet zo gemakkelijk......
Deepest love heb ik gemaakt op blauw stof, met een groene marmer erin.
ik vond het groen daar heel mooi op uitkomen, en ben dus heel blij met het resultaat.
nou, dan ga je toch weer voor datzelfde stof zou je denken, maar daar zit toch een klein probleempje .......
Waiting for Ships is naar mijn idee toch meer blauw.......ook wel groen, maar meer blauwig, en dat komt misschien weer mooier uit op groen stof......
nu heb ik een stuk groen stof, hetzelfde als het blauwe, maar dan dus groen met een bruine marmer erin.......

to be honnest, I haven´t stitched at all lately.
I just wasn´t in to it, and thats all right, since there is no one pushing me to stitch, and I have no deadlines.
but now I´m starting to get the urge again !
so I have decided to start a new project ; Waiting for Ships by Mirabillia.
she´s supposed to be beside Deepest Love when she´s done.
but we´re not there yet, first there is a decision to make, what fabric will I stitch her on ?
and the is not an easy one......
I stitched Deepest Love on blue fabric, with a green marble in it, which really did the green stand out, so I´m very pleased with the result.
well, stitch her on the same fabric then, you´ll say, but here is a tiny problem...
Waiting for Ships looks more blue to me.......there is green in it to, but more blue, and that might look beter on green fabric.............
now I do have a piece of green fabric, the same as the blue one, but now green, with a brown marble in it............

ik heb de kleuren al uitgezocht, maar ik ben er nog niet uit.
dus, wie helpt ?

kijk nou toch eens wat ik gekocht heb op Marktplaats............
ik zag op een blog ( weet niet meer welke ) ´Waiting for ships ` van Mirabilia, en ja, toen was ik verkocht !
om eerlijk te zijn wilde ik nog een zeemeermin maken, en die dan ingelijst ophangen naast Deepest Love.
ik heb een nog lege slaapkamer muur die daarvoor reserveerd is.
en in de eerste instantie was ik van plan om Mermaids of the deep blue te borduren.
een prachtig patroon, maar ik was niet zo tevreden met de dingen die ze vasthouden, of schijnen te plukken, maar waar vandaan dan, en wat moet het in hemelsnaam voorstellen ?
dus daar wou ik wat aan veranderen, maar hoe en wat............ik ben er nog niet uit.
maar goed, ik dwaal af !
nu zag ik dus ineens ergens Waiting for ships.
en die vind ik ook heel mooi !
meer in de stijl van Deepest Love, en ze kijkt naar links, terwijl Deepest Love naar rechts kijkt, dus dat lijkt me wel een leuke zusje voor haar.
en via Marktplaats heb ik nu het patroon gekocht, met alle kraaltjes, tresures en speciale garen erbij, voor nog geen 25 euro !
echt een koopje !
de verkoopster verkoopt nog veel meer patronen, en soms zelfs complete pakketten van Mirabilia, dus als je wat zoekt, bij Cindy moet je zijn, sla je slag !

I saw on a blog ( do not remember which one ) `Waiting for ships ` by Mirabilia, and well, then it happend, I was sold !
to be honnest, I did plan to stitch another mermaid, and then hang it beside Deepest Love.
I have an empty bedroom wall reserved for that.
and at first I had planned to stitch Mermaids of the deep blue.
a beautiful design, but I´m not so happy with what it is they are honding in their hands, or seem to be harvesting, where does it come from, and what in heavens name is it supposed to be ?
so I wanted to change that, but how, and what................ I haven´t figured that out just yet.
anyway, I´m wandering of !
no now I all of a sudden Waiting for ships cought my eye.
and I really like her aswell !
she is more in the style of Deepest Love, and she looks to the left, while Deepest Love looks tot the right, so I think she will be a nice looking sister to her.
and now I bought the chart on Marktplaats, including all of the beads, special threads and treasures, for less the 25 euro !
a real bargain !
the seller is selling more Mirabilia charts, and even some complete kits of Mirabilia so if there is anything you are looking for, go to Cindy, and make your pick !




maar ik ga sterk zijn, alhoewel het ontzettend kriebeld, probeer ik nog niet te beginnen.
ik wil haar borduren op hetzelfde stof als Deepest Love, en dat heb ik nog , maar ik heb nog niet gekeken of het genoeg is, knap he !
ik wil gewoon niet weer 5 of 6 WIP´s hebben, want dat werkt niet zo voor mij.
en bovendien, de danseres borduurd ook nog veel te lekker.
helaas nog steeds alleen maar bruin, 7 tinten nu, nog steeds geen stiksteken, maar ik kijk wel al heel erg uit naar een andere kleur !

I want to stitch her on the same fabric I used for Deepest Love, and I still have it, but I haven´t looked to see if it will fit, isn´t that good of me ?
I just do not want to have 5 or 6 WIP ´s on my hands, that just doesn´t work for me.
and besides, I like stitching the dancer still.
unfortunately still only brown, 7 shades by now,and stil no backstitches, but I am really looking foreward to some other colors by now !


wat Be Hippie betreft heb ik helaas nog geen update, ik heb er niet meer aan gewerkt, maar dat komt wel weer.
maar nu heb ik nog een vraagje aan jullie dames.
bij het patroon van Waiting for ships zit ook speciaal garen, Au Ver a Soie.
ik heb er nog nooit mee gewerkt........
de kleuren komen wel overeen met het Kreinik dat op het patroon staat vermeld, maar hoe verwerk je het ?
en werkt het beter / fijner dan Kreinik ?
bij Deepest Love hoefde ik maar een heel klein beetje, wat stiksteken, dus ik heb wat metallic garen van mezelf gebruikt.
maar nu heb ik veel meer nodig, dus dan gaat dat niet.
dus alles jullie tips voor me hebben dan hoor ik het graag !

as far as Be Hippie goed, I don´t have any update to show, since I haven´t worked on it anymore, but that will happen soon.but now I have a question for you ladies.
with the chart of Waiting for ships came some special threads, Au Ver a Soie.
I have never worked with that..............
the colors do match the Kreinik that is charted, but how do I use it ?
and does it work the same / better then Kreinik ?
with Deepest Love I just needed such a little bit, that I used some metallic from my own stash.
but now I need a lot more, so that will not work.
so if you have some tips for me, please let me know !
