vandaag viel het boek in de bus dat ik heb gewonnen bij Diane.
dankjewel Diane !!
ik vind het helemaal geweldig, er staan zoon mooie patronen in !
dit is denk ik toch wel mijn favoriet ;

bijna vergeten de vorige keer, dit is nog een foto van Gracious Era.
alle kruissteekjes en halve kruissteken zijn nu klaar, en ik heb het echt even gehad, dus aar een tijdje de kast in.
ik maak het heus nog wel af hoor, maar nu even niet !

all of the cross stitches and half cross stitches are done now, and I´ve really had it for now, so of in the draw it goes.
not to worry, I wil finish it, just not right now !

en een snelle update van de danseres.
ondanks dat het linnen is, en 12 draads, borduurd het heel prettig, ik heb er echt moeite mee om het aan de kant te leggen !
dit zijn pas 5 kleuren, en kijk eens !
en het mooiste is, er zitten helemaal geen stiksteken in !

and a quick update on the dancer.
allthough the fabric is linnen, and it is a 30 count fabric, it´s really nice to stitch, and I have some trouble putting it away !
for now I have just used 5 colors, and just look !
and the best part of all, there are absolutely no back stitches !

ik heb een hele leuke ontwerpster ondekt ; Barbara Ana !
deze Spaanse ontwerpster maakt hele leuke, kleurrijke patronen.
helaas is er in Nederland maar 1 internetwinkel die deze patronen verkoopt, en het patroon Be Hippy, hadden ze helaas niet.
dus dat heb ik besteld via Creative Poppy, hier kun je patronen bestellen die je na betaling via internet kunt downloaden.
alleen ben ik niet zo blij met de afdruk......
ik ben er alleen nog niet achter of dat aan het patroon ligt, of aan mijn printer .
misschien moet ik hem eens schoonmaken, hoe doe je zoiets in hemelsnaam ??
in dit patroon zitten 16 kleuren, waarvan 7 color variations.
6 van DMC, en 1 van Anchor.
en natuurlijk heb ik die net niet !
dus maar meteen besteld, dan kan ik snel beginnen.
ik heb er al een heel leuk stof voor ;

I found a lovely new designer ; Babara Ana !
this Spanisch designer makes lovely, colorfull designs.
unfortunately there is only one webshop over here that sells her designs, and they did not have `Be Hippy `, just my luck.
so I orderd the chart from Creative Poppy, this is a webshop were you can buy patterns, and them download them from the internet.
I´m just not so happy with my print...........
I have not figured out wether it is the chart, or my printer that is to blame.
maybe I ought to clean it, how in heavens name do you do that ?
the design has 16 colors, 7 of which are color variations, 6 DMC and 1 Anchor.
and of course, I don´t have those numbers !so I orderd them right away, so I can start soon.

ik worstel me nog steeds dapper door Gracious Era heen.
maar mijn goede voornemen om dit eerst af te maken voor ik aan iets anders begin heb ik alweer opgegeven.
de lucht schiet wel lekker op, dat is veel met weinig kleuren, maar om nou te zeggen dat ik er echt zin in heb...........
ik heb me voorgenomen de lucht af te maken, en dan de stiksteken en de franse knoopjes uit te stellen tot een andere keer.

I´m stil struggeling my way through Garcious Era.
but I´ve already set aside my goal to first finish this project before starting a new one.
the sky is comming along nicely, it´s a lot, with few diferend colors, but to say that I´m enjoying it............
I have decided to finish the sky , and then leave the backstitches and french knots for an other time.


en tot die tijd denk ik nog even verder, of ik de indonesische danseres nu op ecru of op bruin stof ga maken.
ik heb wel alvast een stuk Jobelan ivoor gekocht, en 2 strengetjes Anchor multicolors.
een beetje voorraad is nooit weg !

nee, nog niet juichen, het is nog niet zover..............bijna, dat wel, maar nu blijk ik geen 3371 meer te hebben, de kleur waarmee ik de stiksteken moet doen, verdorie ! ik dacht dat ik die kleur nog had, niet dus ! maar snel besteld, en nu..................wachten !

druk druk ! / busy busy !

Zo, de feestdagen zijn weer achter de rug, even tijd om op adem te komen.
Ik vind het altijd een hele leuke tijd, maar om de een of andere reden heb je er altijd zoveel werk mee..........
Drukke dagen waarin je vanalles moet, en aan vanalles moet denken, en dan maar hopen dat alles goed gaat, zoals je gepland had.
Maar nu heb ik nog een paar dagen vrij, om even wat tijd voor mezelf te nemen.
En dus tijd om te bloggen !

Well, the holidays are done, time to catch my breath .

I really love the holiday season, but for some reason it always brings along so much work.................

Busy days, in which you have to do so many things, think about so many things, and then just hope that everything goes well, as you had planned.

But now I have a few days off, so some me-time.

And time to blog ofcourse !

Een tijdje geleden heb ik dit boek gekocht op Marktplaats , het heet cross stitch Mythes and Magic, en er staan patronen in van verschillende ontwerpers.

Hele mooie patronen, zoals je ziet !

Ik koop wel vaker dingen op Marktplaats, je kunt er vaak erg leuke patronen of andere dingen op de kop tippen voor leuke prijzen !

A while ago I bought this book on Marktplaats , it's called cross stitch Mythes and Magic, and it has charts from a lot of different designers in it.

Very nice charts, as you can see !

I often buy things on Marktplaats, it's like Ebay, ( we have a Dutch Ebay ), but much more popular, and you can often get very nice charts, or other things there for a good price.

Zoals dit patroon ; Silent Night, van Designs for the Needle.
Ik had het vorig jaar al gezien, maar toen was het alleen maar als compleet pakket te koop, en nu zag ik het patroon te koop.
Ik vind het zo Kerst-ig, ik heb het meteen gekocht, en ben er zelfs al aan begonnen...............

I had had my eye on this design since last year, but then it was only sold as a complete kit, and now I saw the chart for sale.
I find it so Christmas-isch , so I bought it right away, and have even started on it already...........

En nog een nieuwe start !
Maar goed dat ik nog geen goed voornemen had om niets nieuws te beginnen, haha !
Dit is Shaun the Sheep, Tristan heeft er een spel van op zijn Nintendo.
Het wordt een schilderijtje op licht-blauw stof, voor Tristan.

sneeuw / snow

Ja, ook hier heeft het gesneeuwd !
Helaas niet veel, en het is losse poedersneeuw, dus niet erg geschikt om sneeuwpoppen te maken, maar het is toch wat.
En voor vannacht is er weer sneeuw gemeld, dus wie weet !

Wat Gracouis Era betreft ben ik ook met de sneeuw bezig.
Alleen het geel ( 3823 ) stond me niet zo aan langs het wit........................
Ik hou nu eenmaal van mooie schone sneeuw !
Dus ik heb een stukje uitgeprobeerd met ecru, om het verschil te zien.
Links op de foto kun je het zien.
Bovenaan wit met 3823 , en onderaan een stukje wit met ecru.
Kunnen jullie al raden welke versie het wordt ?

Yes, it we have snow here to !
Just not that much, and it is lose snow, so not very good for making snowmen, but it's better then nothing !
And for tonight the forercast predicts more snow, so more to come !

As far as Gracious Era goes, I've been working on the snow aswell.
Just the yellow ( 3823 ) I did not much like, in combination with the white........................
I prefer my snow to be clean and white !
So I tried a little piece with ecru, to see the difference.
You can see it in the left of the photo.
The upper bit is with white and 3823, and the lower bit is with white and ecru.
Can you gues which version it's going to be ?

Gracious Era

Zo, daar ben ik weer !

Niet weggeweest hoor, maar eventjes druk met van alles en nog wat op prive gebied.

Tja, dat heb je soms ook !

Maar ik heb nog wel flink geborduurd.

Zover ben ik nu met het Troetelbeertje, en zover blijft het even, tot de baby er is.

Ik wil de naam en datum erbij maken, dus ik heb wat extra ruimte over gelaten aan de onderkant.

Dan heb ik hem zo klaar als het straks zover is !

Well, here I am again !

I haven't been gone, just been busy with a lot of thing in my personal life.
That can happen to.

But I have been busy stitching.

This is my progress on the Care Bear, and this is how far it will stay for now, until the baby is born.
I want to add the name and date of birth, so I left some extra room at the bottom.

Now it won't take me long to finish it when she arrives !

En dit is hoever ik nu ben met Gracious Era.

Het patroon wat ik had klopte van geen kanten, dus heb uiteindelijk het pakket gekocht.

Jammer genoeg gebruik ik het stof en het garen daarvan niet, dus het pakket verkoop ik weer.

Ik zal binnen kort een stukje plaatsen over de ingen die ik wegdoe, misschien dat iemand interesse heeft........

De dame in blauw is iets aangepast, het donker-blauw in haar jurk vond ik te donker.

Nu ben ik bezig met het gebouw op de achtergrond.

Ik had me bedacht dat het mooier zou zijn als de halve kruisjes van de achtergrond , en de bovenste steekjes van de hele kruisjes dezelfde kant op wezen, ivm de licht-inval.

Dus nu werk ik tegen de keer in zeg maar, en dat is af en toe best lastig !

Voordeel is wel dat die halve steekjes natuurlijk veeeel sneller gaan.

And this is my progress on Gracious Era.

The chart that I had was complety wrong, so I ended up buying the kit.

Unfortunetly I will not use the fabric, or the floss, so I'm selling the kit again.

I will soon place some pictures of the kis and charts that I'm selling, maybe someone might be intrested............

The lady in blue is slightly ajusted, the blue in her dress was just to dark for my taste.

And now I'm working on the building in the background.

I decided that it would look nicer if I did the half cross-stitches in the background, in the same direction as the top of my normal cross-stitches, so that it would look better when the light is on it.

So I am working agains my normal way of making my crosses, which is sometines really anoing !

On the other hand, doing half crosses works a whole lot quicker .

Gracious Era

nadat ik het eindresultaat had gezien bij Angela http://hookedonstitches.blogspot.com/ was ik verliefd !
ik heb het patroon gekocht, en ben er al druk mee bezig.
over de man in de grijze jas ben ik nog niet tevreden.
ik heb het donker grijs al een keer uitgehaald en vervangen door een andere kleur grijs, maar ik weet nog niet of ik het zo laat.
eerst maar eens de dame naast hem en dan kijk ik wel verder.


hier een plaatje van het eindresultaat, voor diegene die het patroon niet kennen.
helaas zijn de sneeuwvlokken die het zo apart maken hier niet goed op te zien.

I bought the chart, and have started already.
but I'm not to happy about the gentleman in grey.
I took out the dark grey and replaced it with another grey, but I'm not sure yet if I will leave it like that.
perhaps he will look better after I've done the lady next to him.

here is a picture for those who don't know the pattern, unfortunetly it doesn't show the snow flakes very well, which I find make the work so different.


de zeemeermin is nog niet klaar, dus helaas nog geen foto's, maar ik ben wel al een klein stukje verder gegaan met de rotsen van The Castle.
deze kleuren vind ik beter passen, dus ik denk dat dit hem wordt !
