wat me nu toch weer is overkomen............
ik wilde heel enthousiast dit ornamentje gana afwerken, toen ik er achter kwam dat er iets niet klopte !
zien julie het al ?
het aantal steken is hetzelfde, maar schijnbaar is de stof een beetje raar............
ik heb inderdaad wel de 2 kanten niet in de zelfde richting op het stof gemaakt, zou dat het zijn ?

I was really enthousiastic about finishing this ornament, when I found out that someting wasn´t right !

the number of stitches is the same, so obviously the fabric is a bit funny...........
it did not make the 2 sides in the same fabric direction, would that be it ?

nou, er zit dus niet anders op dan een nieuwe voorkant en een nieuwe achterkant te maken............

en hier is hij dan, mijn eerste finish van 2011 !
weer een mini ornamentje voor Tristan.
het patroon is Autumn biscornu van Barbara Ana, de muts heb ik aangepast naar iets meer kerst....
het eekhoontje heb ik geborduurd met DMC verloopgaren.
nog een heel gedoe om het mooi te laten verlopen, omdat het geheel erg klein is, dit is Aida met 7 kruisjes per cm.
alleen denk ik dat ik deze nog een keer maak, maar dan op blauw stof.

another mini - ornament for Tristan.
the chart is Autumn biscornu by Barabra Ana, I changed the hat to some more christmas-sy colours....
the squirrel is stitched with DMC colour variations.
that was a bit of a hassle, to get the colour to variate, since this is all very small, I used Aida, 7 stitches / cm.
but I do think I might do this one again, then on blue fabric.
en mijn nieuwe project ?
daar was ik al aan begonnen , de zeemeermin !
dat schiet ook al aardig op, ik moet zeggen dat het Au Ver a Soie garen best prettig werk, voor zover metalic draad prettig werkt dan .
met wat ornamentjes en kleine werkje tussendoor wil ik het hier wel even bij laten, nog even niets nieuws meer beginnen !

I have aready started, the mermaid !
she is coming along nicely, and I have to say that the Au Ver a Soie thread is nice to stitch with, not that metalic threads are as nice to stitch with as normal floss.
for now I will stitck to this, and some little ornaments en small presents, and not start anything new.

bij Crownstitches heb ik dit prachtige garen besteld, Weeks Dye Works.
ik heb er nog nooit meee gewerk, dus dat wordt spannend !
Blue Bonnet, Bethlehem en Union Blue zijjn voor de patronen die ik pas gekocht, heb, Molasses wil ik gebruiken voor de haren van de zeemeermin, en Navy is bedoeld voor iets waar ik Blue Bonnet te ligt voor vind.
en dan nog de kleur Mermaid, tja, die moest ik gewoon hebben !

I´ve never used this before, so it will be quite exciting !
Blue Bonnet, Bethlehem and Union Blue are for the charts that I bought recently, Molasses I plann to use for the mermaids hair, and Navy I will use for something that recuires Blue Bonnet, but I find that a lo light shade.
and then there is Mermaid, well, I just had to have that !

I think I´ll stitch a Mira on this fabric, but not just yet.

met trots presenteer ik ; mijn 2e kerst ornament !
hij heeft een hele tijd in de la gelegen, na de 1e mislukte poging, maar na nr 1 had ik de smaak te pakken !
op een andere blog ( sorry, ik weet niet meer welke ) zag ik een kerst ornament afgewerkt met - wat leek op - kerstlampjes eromheen.
dat vond ik wel leuk, maar druppelvormige kraaltjes kon ik natuurlijk niet vinden !
dus deze ervoor in de plaats, en ik moet zeggen, het is wel geslaagd, niet ?

I proudly present ; my second Christmas ornament !
it´s been in a drwaer for a while, after my first failed attempt, but after nr 1 I really felt that I´d gotten the hang of it !
on another blog ( sorry, don´t remeber which one ) I saw a ornament finished with - what looked like - tree lights around it.
I really liked that, but could not find any drop-shaped beads !
so I used these instead, and I must say, it turned out really well, did it not ?

Tristan vond hem ook heel mooi, en wou hem wel voor in zijn boompje.
dus ziehier ; boom met ornament.

ik vond een patroon van een Barabara Ana bircornu, en heb daar een stukje van gebruikt.
het was nogal een gefrunnik, om het zachtjes uit te drukken, maar ik vind het zo schattig !
ik heb dunner lint gebruikt, en natuurlijk boom-lichtjes-kraaltjes.
de 2 euromunt is om de afmeting te laten zien, dat is trouwens 4 bij 4 cm.

I found a chart for a Barbara Ana Biscornu, and used a piece of the chart.
it was quite a bit of a hassle, to say the least, but I think it looks so cute !
I used a smaller ribbon, and ofcourse tree-light-beads.
the 2 euro piece is to show the size, which is 4 by 4 cm.

en ook aan de achterkant heb ik deze keer gedacht !
nu wil ik er nog en paar meer gaan maken, kan iemand me helpen aan de santa paws biscornu, of een ander kleurrijk klein patroontje ?

kerst ornamentje / christmas ornament

het is me gelukt !
mijn eerste zelfgemaakte kerst-ornamentje !
ik ben er uiteraard heel erg trots op, maar dat mag ook wel dacht ik zo.
het idee had ik al een hele tijd, maar je kent dat wel, het komt er dan niet van.
terwijl het zo leuk is, en de patroontjes zijn zo geborduurd !
maar goed, ik ben dus vol goede moed begonnen, eerst wat re-search gedaan, en toen aan de slag gegaan.
borduren was niet het probleem, maar de afwerking............
ik vond deze tutorial van Mylene, zij maakt echt hele mooie ornamentjes.
maar op de 1 of andere manier wilde het niet echt lukken...................
dus de hele handel is ergens in een lade terecht gekomen...............

I did it !
my very first hand made Christmas ornament !
I´m very proud of it, and I think I ought to be.
the idea I´ve had for a long time.
but there is always something else to do, and then you just don´t get around to it.
but now that I havem it´s so much fun , and the designs are so quickly stitched !
anyways, I started on it, first did some re-search , and then boldly dived in.
stitiching was not the problem, but the finishing............
I found this tutorial by Mylene, she really makes the most beautiful ornaments.
but for some reason I did not get the hang of it.................
so I just tosed it all in a drawer..............


en toen begon het toch weer te kriebelen !
dus een 2e poging.
zo ben ik er nu dus achter dat linnen erg fijn werkt, want dat kun je omvouwen.
en van te voren even nameten of je voor en achterkant echt even groot zijn !

until I got the itch !
so I made a second attempt.
now I´ve found out that linnen is real nice to work with when doing this, course you can just fould it.
and another tip ; beforehand it´s a good idea to meaure up if your front and backside are the same size !


ik vind het makkelijker om het geheel eerst in elkaar te zetten, vullen en dichtmaken.
en daarna pas de kraaltjes.
maar dat moet iedereen natuurlijk zelf weten.
het patroon is trouwens een freebie van Barbara Ana.

I personally find it more easy to put everything together, fill it up, and colse it up first, and then attatch the beads afterwards.
but off course everyone should decide for themselfves.
