draak ( alweer ) / dragon ( again )

zo, de eerste werkweek zit er weer op, nog 2 te gaan !
dat betekend dus ook wat minder tijd om te borduren, maar ik ben toch alweer wat opgeschoten vind ik zelf.
helaas zijn de foto's een beetje wazig, ik heb een nieuwe camera, en dat is nog wat uitproberen........

this has been my first week back at work, 2 more to go !
that also means less stitchingtime, but I think I did get quite a bit done.
I'm sorry the photo's are a bit blurry, but I have a new camera, and I still need to get used to it ...........




dit was weer een moeilijk stukje.
toen ik de kringen klaar had, was ik er niet tevreden mee. ( helaas vergeten een foto te maken )
toen realiseerde ik me dat de lichte kleuren op zwart het meeste opvallen, en de donkere minder..........
dus het resultaat is heel anders !
uithalen maar weer, en de donkerste kleur en de lichtste kleur omgewisseld.
nu is het veel beter !

this was a tricky part.
after I had finished the rimpels in the water, I was not satisfied with the result . ( I forgot to take a picture )
then I realised that the light colors stand out more on the black fabric, and the dark colors less..............
so the result is completely different !
so I frogged, and switched the darkest and lightest color.
now it's much better !

ik vind de kleur om de klauw niet zo, dus dat ga ik denk ik nog veranderen.

wat betreft het lijf zelf ben ik wel tevreden, er moest eigenlijk nog een lijn met stiksteken om de rode lijn op de rug, maar dat heb ik niet gedaan.

I do not like the color of the backstitches around the claw very much, so I might change that.

I am happy with the body, the chart called for a line of backstitches around the red line on the back, but I did not do that.

dit is de rechtervleugel, een klein stukje vleugel maar, maar wel een boel werk !

hier ben ik 3 dagen aan bezig geweest.

voor degene die dit patroon ook willen maken, er is een patroontje om dit stuk vleugel compleet te maken, kijk maar hier .

ik vind hem niet helemaal passen, de vleugel, maar ik heb sowieso te weinig stof , dus ik laat het zo.

this is the right wing, a little bit of wing, but a lot of work !

this took me 3 days .

I personally think it doesn't quite fit right, the wing, but I do not have enough fabric, so I'm leaving it as it is.

ik ben aan de nek begonnen, om te beslissen welke kleuren ik voor de nek gebruik.

inderdaad, weer kruisjes met gecombineerde kleuren, en eigenwijs als ik ben , doe ik dat dus lekker niet !

de nek heeft ook kleuren van de buik, dus dit moest even, zodat ik ook de buik af kon maken.

tot zover is het nog te volgen ?

I satrted on the neck, to decide which colors I would use.

indeed, combined colors again, ans stubbern as I am, I don't want to do that !

the neck has some of the colors of the belly, so I had to work this out, in order to be able to complete the belly.

de stekels zijn nu af, het metalic draad valt niet echt op, maar dat vind ik niet zo erg.

het moet wel een beetje een beschaafde draak blijven !

bovendien heb ik al besloten dat dit een meisjes draak is, want, laten we wel wezen, welke zichzelf respecterende mannendraak draagt linten aan zijn staart ?

ik wilde de stiksteken om de draak in metalic groen doen, maar ik heb me alweer bedacht, en ze uitgehaald.

toch maar gewoon groen.

nog een klein stukje buik, en dan is dat klaar.

het gaat snel de laatste tijd , het ene na het andere werkje vliegt van mijn naald af !
maar wat wil je , als je allemaal kleine dingetjes maakt .
deze is af , voorheen genaamd ; "nieuw project ", een klein draakje van Joan Elliot uit het boek Bewitching Cross Stitch.

this one is finished , previously called ; "new project ", a little dragon by Joan Elliot from the book Bewitching Cross Stitch.


ik heb dit patroon uitgekozen met dit lijstje in gedachten.
jaren geleden gekocht, en nooit de juiste foto gevonden voor erin.
normaal gesproken zou ik niet zo snel een dergelijk lijstje kiezen voor een borduurwerk, meestal ga ik voor houten lijstjes, naturel of in kleur.
maar deze kon er wel voor gemaakt zijn !

I chose this chart with this photo frame in mind.
bought it years ago, and never found the right photo to put in it.
normaly I would not pick such a frame for my stitching, usually I go for the wooden frame, naturel or in a matching collour.
but this looks like it's made just for this dragon !

en daar staat hij dan mooi te wezen op het tafeltje naaste de bank, waar ik s'avonds graag zit te borduren.

ik ga de komende tijd toch heel anders kijken naar de foto lijstjes in de winkel........
