Discovery of the New World klaar ! / finished !

jaha, het is eindelijk zover, Discovery of the New world is klaar !
wat een gedoe was dat met de stiksteken !
ik wilde de touwen aan het schip eerst allemaal uit 1 stuk doen, als 1 lange stiksteek dus, maar dat werkte echt niet.
van een afstandje ziet het er nu toch prima uit, dus ik ben tevreden !
een heel kleurrijk project, en het blauwe Jobelan borduurt erg prettig.

yes, finally I´ve done it, Discovery of the New World is finished !
boy it was a fuss doing those back stitches !
I wanted to do the ropes on the ship as a single stitch, so in one piece, but that really di not work.
from a distance it looks good, so I am satisfied !
this was a very colorfull project, and the blue Jobelan is so nice to stitch on .


en wat nu ?
nou, ik heb natuurlijk nog keuze genoeg.
allereerst de 2 pakketen die ik voor mijn verjaardag kreeg.
de wolven ga ik alvast zeker op zwart Jobelan maken, met mijn eigen DMC garen.
en de danseres.......
ik ben er nog niet uit of ik haar op ecru stof ga borduren, het stof in het pakket is ecru maar dat vind ik veel te grof.
of ik maak haar op bruin stof ;

and what now ?
well, I have a lot to choose from.
first off all the 2 kits that I got for my birthday.
the wolves I will be stitching on black Jobelan for certain, with my own DMC.
and the indonesian dancing girl.........
I haven´t decided wether to stitch her on ecru fabric, the fabric in the kit is ecru, but I don´t like it, it´s to coarse for my taste.
or I could do her on brown fabric ;



ik ben ook nog aan Gracious Era bezig, alhoewel ik erg op zie tegen al die franse knoopjes.
het ziet wel heel mooi uit, al die sneeuwvlokken !
en ik wil proberen toch niet aan te veel projecten tegenlijkertijd bezig te zijn, dat is niet zo mijn ding.
als ik eenmaal de smaak te pakken heb dan wil ik niet meer stoppen, dus dan blijft de rest liggen.
een rotatie werkt dus ook echt niet voor mij !
ik zal wel nog een klein projectje starten, dat is makkelijk mee te nemen, naar Tristan´s zwemles bijvoorbeeld.
daar zit je dan toch 45 minuten te wachten..........

I´m still working on Gracious Era, although I am dreding all of those French knots.
but it does look geaorgious, all of those snowflakes !
and I do not want to be working on to many projects at once, that is just not my thing.
once I get into it, I do not want to stop, and the rest just has to wait.
a rotation just doesn´t work for me !
I will be starting a new little project, becaurse that´s easier to take with me, like to Tristans´swimming lessons.
it is after all a 45 min wait......


we heben ook nog wat aan de tuin gewerkt,ik heb deze hele leuke tuin lichtjes gekregen !
en de waterval is schoongemaakt, en een nieuwe pomp geinstalleerd.
dus we hebben weer water !

de blauwe stiksteken komen op de foto niet zo goed over, maar ik vind ze helemaal geweldig !

en ik heb eindelijk het kleine kasteeltje voor Tristan ingelijst !

het lijstje had ik al een hele tijd, maar het inlijsten was nogal lastig.

er zit veel ruimte tussen het glas en het borduurwerk, dus uiteindelijk heb ik het met fotolijm voorzichtig op het achterblad vastgeplakt.

and I finally framed the little castle I stitched for Tristan !

the frame had been lying around for a while, but framing it proved to be quite difficult.

there is a lot of space between the glass and the sttiched fabric, so I ended up having to glue it carefully to the card-board thats in the back.

en dan nog een typisch gevalletje van hoe het 1 tot het ander leid.......

deze hele leuke vlinder zag ik in het tuincentrum.

Meenemen ! zei Tristan, dus dat doe je dan natuurlijk als goede moeder.

helaas hadden ze er maar 1.......

ik wist al meteen waar ik hem neer zou hangen, voor het raam, zodat de zon fijn in de kraaltjes kon schijnen.

maar...............de ramen waren behoorlijk vies, dus weinig geschitter.

dus, ramen wassen dan maar.

niet echt iets wat ik leuk vind, om de 1 of andere reden lukt het me niet om ze streeploos schoon te krijgen, ik zie telkens wel weer ergens iets zitten.

maar goed, het is gelukt, buiten kant en binnen kant, en de bovenverdieping wacht maar tot de volgende week !

I spotted this very cute butterfly in a garden centre.

Buy it ! Tristan said, so ofcourse, as any good mother would do, that´s what I did.

unfortunately they only had one................

I knew right away where I would put it, in front of the window, so the sunlight could shine through the beads.

but.............the windows were really dirty, so there was not much sparkling going on.

so, of to washing the windows .

not really something I like to do, for some reason I do not seem to be able to get them stripe-less clean, I always spot a bit of dirt again.

but, I maniged, outside and inside, and the upstairs windows will have to wait until next week !

making good picture´s proved to be quite difficult, but I think these turned out ok.

misschien hadden jullie het al gezien, bovenaan, net onder de kopfoto en boven de volgers staat een knop van Marktplaats.

als je op het onderste gedeelte klikt kom je bij mijn advertenties op Marktplaats uit.

ik ben mijn voorraad een goed aan het opruimen, en heb een heleboel patronen, magazines en bordurstof uitgezocht dat ik verkoop.

dit is nog niet alles, in de komende tijd komt er nog vanalles bij.

mocht er iemand interesse heben dan hoor ik het graag, een goede ruil is natuurlijk ook altijd leuk !

Barbapapa

Kom op bezoek bij Barbapapa............. Dit is echt jeugdsentiment voor mij, ik keek altijd naar Barbapapa toen ik klein was ! En nu heb ik wat leuks ! Mijn zus is het schuld, zij had er 1 aan haar telefoon hangen, en die was zo leuk ! Een paar dagen geleden gaf ze me de blauwe, en nu heb ik er al 5 ! Zijn ze niet schattig ?

Ik heb het even opgezocht, en het zijn ( van links naar rechts ) Barbabob, Barbabenno, Barbabella, Barbabientje en Barbalala. En ik heb dubbelen, mocht iemand interesse hebben ! Zucht, dat was in de jaren 70 , ik voel me nu echt oud ! Ik vraag me af of deze serie ook in andere landen op tv te zien is geweest ? Ik denk het wel , maar ik hoor het natuurlijk graag van jullie !

The tune of Barbapapa...........that really takes me back , I always used to watch the cartoons when I was little ! And look what I´ve got now ! My sister is to blame really, she had one on her cell-phone, and that was so cute ! A few days ago she gave me the blue one, and now I alraedy have 5 ! Aren´t they adorable ?

I do not know the names in English, but I have a few doubles, if anyone is interested. They are from the seventhies, I feel so old ! I do wonder if the cartoons were shown on tv in other country ´s ? I think so, but I would love to hear it from you !

Tristan heeft 2 weken vrij van school, en gisteren zijn we geweest shoppen,hij had weer nieuwe zomerkleren nodig.

Hij kreeg van mij een nieuwe koptelefoon voor zijn Nintendo.

En geloof me, dat is heel handig !

Hij had er al 1, maar die moest je in het oor doen, en daar kon meneer niet tegen, ze deden hem pijn zei hij.

En nu vond ik deze, hij kan ze zelf al opdoen, alleen hij vind het nog reuze interessant hoe zijn stem klinkt als hij ze op heeft..........

Tristan has 2 weeks off from school, and yesterday I took him shopping, he needed new summer clothes.

I got him these new headphones for his Nintendo.

And believe me, they do come in handy !

He already had a set, but those you had to put in your ear, and he did not like them, he said that they hurt him.

So I found these, he can put them on himself, it is just that he realy likes the sound of his own voice once he has them on..................

Really everything has to be back-stitched (new word ? ) !

So I started on that, so that I won´t be left with just back stitching.

Discovery of the New World

Silent Night is klaar, dus tijd om Discovery of the New World weer uit de kast te trekken !
en ik moet zeggen dat dat best lekker werkt, na al dat zwart.
ik ben er stiekum alweer een tijdje mee bezig, maar ben eigenlijk vergeten om in de tussentijd foto's te maken.................
dus nu lijkt het alsof ik in een korte tijd heeeel veel geborduurd heb, lol !

het lijkt a heel wat, maar om eerlijk te zijn, de rand rondom en de cirkels , daar gaat niet zo heel veel tijd inzitten.
het schiet heerlijk op met borduren, en het lijkt meteen ook alsof je heel veel gedaan hebt !

it looks like a lot of work, but to be honnest, the border on the outside, and the circle's, they do not take up that muh time.
and they are really nice and quick to stitch, you really feel like you've made lot's off progress !

bekentenis / confession

ik moet eigenlijk iets bekennen..................
zei ik de vorige keer nog zo dapper dat ik waarschijnlijk niets zou veranderen aan de kleuren, nou........................toch wel dus !
ik ben begonnen aan de cirkel om het schip, en die moest eigenlijk met DMC 922 , maar dat vond ik toch iets te oranje.
dus daar heb ik DMC 975 voor gebruikt.
daar waar ik 922 nodig heb in het schip, daar gebruik ik het natuurlijk wel.
en ja, er zit en foutje in !

last time I said so bravely that I probably would not change much of the colors, well..........................I did !
I started on the circle around the ship, and that had to be done in DMC 922 , but I found that a bit to orange .
so I changed to DMC 975 instead.
were I need to use 922 in the ship I of course will use it there.
and yes, I made a little error !

voor de rest heb ik niet zoveel gedaan, Tistan wordt volgende week 7, dus ik ben druk met de voorbereidingen.

dan is er niet veel tijd over om te borduren.............

Discovery of the New World update

tatatata, zo ver ben ik al met Discovery of the New World !
dit borduurd echt heel lekker, geen rare dingen, gewoon borduren, en ik ben nog steeds helemaal verliefd op deze kleur stof.
ik moet nog even kijken of de blauw-kleuren van het water uitkomen op deze kleur stof, maar voor de rest zal ik nagenoeg niets veranderen.
lekker simpel !

this is such a nice stitch, no wierd things, just stitching, and I am still completely in love with the fabric color.
I need to check if the blue tones of the water will look good ont he fabric color, but besides that I will change next to nothing.

en zo gaat het er straks uitzien, ik vind vooral de dingetjes aan de rand erg leuk.

ik heb het patroon op internet gekocht, verder heb ik het ook nog nergens gezien.
