C'est le Printemps

dit had ik al een tijdje af, maar omdat het een kadotje was kon ik het nog niet laten zien !
ik vind het erg leuk, en maak het denk ik ook nog een keer voor mezelf.
het patroon heet C'est le Printemps, oftewel ; het is lente ,
en het is een gratis patroontje van Madame la Fee .
ik heb het geborduurd op 11 draads creme kleurig borduurstof.
het lijstje is van sloophout, dat heb ik gehaald bij Xenos.
ik kan echt niet aan die winkel voorbij lopen, ze hebben altijd zulke leuke dingen !

I really love it, and I'll probably make it again for myself.
the chart is called C'est le Printemps , meaning ; it is spring,
and it is a freeby by Madame la Fee .
I stitchted it on 32 count creme colored fabric.
the frame is made of old wood, and I got it at Xenos.
I really cannot pass that shop by, the always have such nice things there !

vandaag zijn mijn nieuwe garen-dozen gearriveerd, joepie !

ik heb een half jaar geleden al mijn garen uitgezocht, op bobbins gezet, en in vakjes dozen gedaan.

maar omdat ik bijna alle kleuren DMC heb, paste het niet meer allemaal.

op internet zag ik bij handwerkshop Bobbins een aanbieding, een garendoos met 32 vakjes, en een extra bak, voor 9.68 per stuk.

dus ik heb er 3 besteld, ben meteen begonnen met iruimen zodra ze gearriveeerd waren, en zie hier het resultaat !

er kunnen 5 tot 6 bobbins in 1 vakje, dat ligt er een beetje aan hoeveel garen erop zit.

dat zijn toch 160 tot 192 bobbins per doos !

voor wie interesse heeft, de aanbieding loopt nog tot eind Juli.

today my new thread-boxes arrived, jippie !

about six months ago I re-organised all my DMC, put it on bobbins, and placed them into thread-boxes.

but since I have nearly every color of DMC, it did not fit into the boxes anymore.

on the internet I found a good deal at handwerkshop Bobbins , a thread box with 32 compartments, and a extra tray, for 9.68 euro a piece.

so I orderd 3, started organizing immediatly when they arrived, and here is the result !

they fit 5 to 6 bobbins per compartment, that depends on how much thread there is on the bobbin.

so that makes 160 to 192 bobbins per box !

for whom is interested, the deal is until the end of Juli.

en de 3 DMC Light Effects, nou ja,..........ik kon geen nee zeggen !

ik sta er zelf van te kijken wat ik in 3 dagen voor elkaar heb gekregen !

jam maken en uithalen / jam making and frogging

een paar dagen geleden belde mijn moeder : crisis !

ze had teveel zwarte bessen geplukt !

dus ik ben zo goed geweest om ze meteen op te halen, en heb besloten er jam van te maken.

daags erna meteen aan de slag gegaan, en gelukkig had ik hulp !

she had picked to much black berries !

so I have been so kind as to pick them up right away, and decided to make jam.

the day after I started, and luckely I had help !

nu ben ik niet zo huishoudelijk aangelegd hoor, maar jam maken is gelukkig erg simpel, zeker met de geleisuiker die je zo in de winkel kunt kopen.

je hebt fruit nodig, evenveel geleisuiker, en potjes.

now I am not so much the domestic type, but making jam is really simple, especially with the special sugar you can buy in the store.

all you need is fruit, the same amount of special sugar, and jars.

na 5 minuten koken doe je de warme jam in de potjes, deksel erop, op de kop wegzetten en af laten koelen.

klaar !

nu ik een aantal kleine werkjes af heb ben ik weer verder gegaan aan The Castle van Theresa Wentzler.

ik had het aan de kant gelegd, omdat het niet echt opschoot.

en het groen van de draak, ...........tja, het was het niet echt, het beviel me niet.

de gecombinerde kleuren van de TW patronen lijken op zwart stof toch heel anders.

dus ik heb een stuk geborduurd met 1 kleur groen per kruisje.

en nu zit ik dus met een dilemma..............

met welke van de 2 zal ik verder gaan ?

de kleuren zoals links op de foto, of zoals rechts ?

even voor de duidelijkheid, het gaat hier dus om het groen van de draak, je ziet zijn staart en een stuk van zijn poot.

now that I have completed a number of little projects, I have returned to The Castle by Theresa Wentzler.

I had put it aside, becourse it just wasn't coming along.

en the groen color of the dragon,.........well, it's just not all that, I didn't like it.

the combined colors of the TW designs just look very different on black fabric.

so I stitched a bit with just 1 color of green per cross stitch.

and now I have a dilemma.............

with which of the 2 colors should I continue ?

just to be clear, this is about the green of the dragon, you can see its tail and part of its paw.

en wie kan ik beter vragen om goed advies dan jullie ?

blauw hartje klaar / blue heart finished

het blauwe hartje is klaar !
ik vind het heel mooi geworden, ben er erg blij mee.
het is toch weer spannend als je wat nieuws uitprobeerd, hoe het er uiteindelijk uit zal zien.
helaas is de kleur op de foto wat fletser, het is baby-blauw, DMC 3747 , geborduurd met Light Effects E 3747 .

I think it turned out very pretty, I'm really happy with it.
it's always a bit exciting when you try something new, how it in the end will turn out.
unfortunately the color looks a bit pale in the picturen, it's baby-blue, DMC 3747 , stitched with Light Effects E3747 .

wat die Lights Effects betreft ben ik toch wel een beetje van gedachten veranderd.

het is lastig borduren, je moet er echt even de tijd voor nemen.

ik heb gemerkt dat je niet kunt "doorsteken " zoals ik graag doe.

normaal begin je bij punt A, dan naar punt B, en dan steek ik mijn naald meteen door naar punt C en trek de naald met draad door.

dat gaat dus niet, je moet echt elke steek 1 voor 1 doen, beetje aantrekken, en dan weer verder.

ook rafeld het sneller, en krult de draad vaker.

maar het resultaat................ ik ben er weg van !

een klein beetje glans, niet teveel, ik vind het zelf heel mooi !

when it comes to the Light Effects I have had a change of heart.
it's not so easy to stitch with, you really need to take your time.
I found that you can not just "pull through " as I like to do.
normally you would start at point A, go point B, and then I put my needle into point C en pull my needle and thread through.
you can't do that with this, you really need to do one stitch at a time, pull it a bit, and then go on.
also the thread crulls up often, and ( I don't know how to say this in English ) comes apart (?) .
but the results..................I love it !
it shines a little bit, not to much, and I really really like it !

nu nog bedenken hoe ik het ga inlijsten.

misschien iets met een hart-vormige passe-partout, dat lijkt me ook wel mooi.

ik ben er nog niet uit, maar dat komt wel.

nieuwe idee-en genoeg in ieder geval, ik wil dit nog een doen in creme, wit, en misschien nog wel met color variations.

daar ga ik eens rustig over denken !

het gaat snel de laatste tijd , het ene na het andere werkje vliegt van mijn naald af !
maar wat wil je , als je allemaal kleine dingetjes maakt .
deze is af , voorheen genaamd ; "nieuw project ", een klein draakje van Joan Elliot uit het boek Bewitching Cross Stitch.

ik heb dit patroon uitgekozen met dit lijstje in gedachten.
jaren geleden gekocht, en nooit de juiste foto gevonden voor erin.
normaal gesproken zou ik niet zo snel een dergelijk lijstje kiezen voor een borduurwerk, meestal ga ik voor houten lijstjes, naturel of in kleur.
maar deze kon er wel voor gemaakt zijn !

I chose this chart with this photo frame in mind.
bought it years ago, and never found the right photo to put in it.
normaly I would not pick such a frame for my stitching, usually I go for the wooden frame, naturel or in a matching collour.
but this looks like it's made just for this dragon !

en daar staat hij dan mooi te wezen op het tafeltje naaste de bank, waar ik s'avonds graag zit te borduren.

ik ga de komende tijd toch heel anders kijken naar de foto lijstjes in de winkel........

vandaag was gewoon een hele, leuke dag !
waarom ?
nee, ik heb niet de lotto gewonnen, helaas !
maar ik kreeg wel een aantal euro-munten binnen, geruild met andere verzamelaars.
naast borduren is euro-munten verzamelen 1 van mijn hobby's.
gewoon de muntjes die je in je portemonnee hebt, en dan van elk euro-land.
en dat zijn er stiekum al heel wat, zeker omdat ze om de zoveel tijd herdenkings munten uitgegeven.
met 1 nieuwe munt ben ik al blij, en met zoveel al helemaal !

why ?
no, I did not win the lottery, to bad !
but I got some euro-coins in the mail today, swaped with other collectors.
besides cross-stitching, 1 of my hobby's is collecting euro-coins.
the coins you have in your wallet, and then 1 of every euro-country.
by now there are a lot, especially since they issue commomorative coins every now and then.
I'm happy with just 1 new coin, and over the moon with so many !

mijn DMC was ook binnen, ik bestel dat altijd via internet.

dan betaal ik 34 cent per streng, ipv 1.30 euro in de winkel.

6 euro voor 15 strengetjes, incl porto, zo blijft het borduren leuk !

I only pay 34 euro-cent per strain , in staid of 1.30 euro in the store.

6 euro for 15 strains, including shipping, that way stitching stays enjoyable !

en ik ben wat dingetjes an het uitproberen.

eerst wou ik proberen 1 over 1 te borduren, maar dat was niet zoo'n succes.

misschien later nog eens.

nu ben ik bezig aan een patroontje van Madame la Fee .

rondneuzend op internet zag ik ergens een borduurwerkje dat was uitgevoerd met wit garen op wit stof.

ik vond het heel mooi, en toen ik dit patroontje zag kreeg ik een idee.

ik hou van blauw, dus ik ga blauw op blauw proberen.

in mijn voorrad had ik nog een stukje Belfast no 265 ice blue , en ik borduur met DMC Light Effects E3747 .

het is verschrikkelijk om mee te borduren dat Light Effects, maar het wordt wel mooi.

alhoewel het wel een project wordt voor overdag !

op de foto is het resultaat helaas niet zo duidelijk te zien, ik zal de volgende keer proberen een betere foto te maken.

al met al terrecht een happy day dus !

roaming around on the internet I saw a cross stitch project that was done with white floss on white fabric.

I really liked that, so when I saw this chart I got an idea.

since I love blue, I'm going to do blue on blue.

in my stash I had a piece of Belfast no 265 ice blue , and I'm stitching with DMC Light Effects E3747.

it's terrible to stitch with, the Light Effects flos, but it's turning out really pretty.

althow this will be a daytime project..........

in the picture the result is not really clear to see, I'll try to take a better picture next time.

all in all a justified happy day !
